Buckshot is a free to use, open-source image conversion utility for macOS, Windows and Linux. Take modern image formats like PNG, JPEG, or BMP and convert them for use in your Apple II programs, or just for fun and making retro looking graphics.

It supports classic 8-bit Apple ][ display modes (LGR, DLGR, HGR, DHGR — including monochrome variants) as well as Apple IIgs Super Hi-Res Mode (SHR), with live previews, dithering and fit/aspect options. Save your converted images directly to a ProDOS volume.

Buckshot is written in C++ using the Qt 6 framework, with conversions powered by "b2d" (bmp2dhr) and "image2shr". If you have problems, please report them on the project issues page.
